Seven of Koronczai Zsolt’s wines won a golden medal in a wine competition in Balatonfüred, one of his olaszrizling won a grand golden medal. The Koronczai family has been dealing with grape productions for generations, they are farming on 22 hectares nearby their family vineyard in Balatonszőlős.With white wines we only use reductive technology. If we have good basic material in terms of grape, then we use its natural yeast, we do not separate the stum from the marc, we do not clean the stum. We let our wines to preserve their fruity characters, fine smell and aroma flavor, said Koronczai Zsolt.
The family is dealing with 3 blue grape- and 12 white grape type, the most of them are olaszrizling, which is the flagship wine of the wine country. They have been developing their farm, since 2000, back then they only had 3 hectares, since then, they have been buying and planting grape.
– We sell a lot of grape on the market. Selling wines is not easy, because the market is relatively big. We ship to restaurants and to local shops bottled wine as well, said the winemaker.
The Koronczai vinery has been taking part in the borhetek since 2010. According to the rules of borhét, only those wines can be sold at borhetek, which has been registered, and received at least 70 points. The Koronczai vinery’s wine of the week received over 90 points, and got a golden medal.
– These wines are mostly from 2017, for example Irsai Oliver, tramini, szürkebarát, ottonel muskotály, our Balaton wine - which is also an olaszrizling, but yet different, compared to the one with we won the grand gold medal. We registered a merlot-savignon cuvéet from 2013 as well, but only because of the rules, because without showing it to the jury, we know that it is really good - said Koronczai Zsolt. He even added, that taking part in the borhetek has a lot of advantages. Its most important profit is that we get to meet a lot of people, who get to know the winemaker, and if they see the wine later in a shopping unit, they will buy the wine with more confidence.
There is going to be a new generation for the family business. The kids, Péter and Martin are still learning, but they show some interest towards grape and wine, the head of the family hopes, that later they will work in the vinery as well.

Bag in box

That’s why it is possible that the product is still able to be fresh for several weeks after opening it. The cooled storage helps to preserve the quality!
Advantages: Bag-in-Box prevents the content of the bag to get in connection with the air, so the taste and the quality of the product does not change due to oxidation. The product is strictly environmentally friendly. It was designed to be recyclable (the bag is made of polyethylene, the box is made of corrugated cardboard). More economical and cheaper solution.
The Bag-in-Box is being sold in 5 or 10 liter bags.
